Mountain View Veterinary Hospital is currently looking for an experienced Receptionist and a Veterinary Assistant or a Licensed Technician to join our team. We are a busy full-service AAHA practice focused on providing great care for pets and their families. We offer continuing education, 401k, paid time off, health benefits, and a wonderful team to work and to grow with. If interested, please email your resume and cover letter to email@example.com.
Our kennel staff assists in many areas of the hospital. The kennel assistant position often entails keeping the hospital clean and well stocked, helping to restrain patients, observing boarding patients, and informing other team members of potential problems. The position also involves caring for each pet during their stay with us, which includes multiple walks per day (for dogs), enrichment for each pet, and feeding, medicating, and keeping all boarding kennel areas clean and comfortable.
Veterinary Assistants (VA) fill a vital role in our hospital. They work directly under a veterinarian or licensed veterinary technician during routine and advanced procedures. Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior is extremely useful. VAs often help restrain pets for examinations, radiograph positioning, injections, etc. They may also help prepare patients for surgery, provide nursing and comfort care, or perform basic tasks and laboratory diagnostic testing. A VA may also be responsible for cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment as well as keeping work areas tidy and sanitized.
Client Service Representative
Our client service representatives take great care of each client (and patient) that they encounter. They are friendly and cheerful and strive to make each person (and their pet) feel welcome at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital. Candidates should be good communicators, organized, able to multi-task, and willing to take on multiple duties such as answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and preparing patient records.
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) are integral members of our veterinary health care team and work directly under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. They have been educated in the care and handling of animals as well as basic principles of normal and abnormal life processes, surgical procedures, anesthesiology, medical services, client education, and in many laboratory, diagnostic, and clinical procedures. LVTs provide high quality service and perform medical and non-medical services to patients throughout the day. Our LVTs are good communicators with the ability to work well with people and animals, and they possess good decision-making skills.
Veterinarians play one of the most critical roles here at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital, as they provide healthcare for animals to maintain and/or improve their overall health. All veterinarians must hold a doctorate degree and licensure to practice veterinary medicine. They perform a wide variety of services from day to day, including comprehensive wellness exams, diagnoses and treatments, laboratory work, surgery, and anesthesiology. Veterinarians must be skilled in the use of advanced diagnostic tools and technology to provide patients with high quality veterinary care. Another important aspect of their role is client education, so having exceptional communication skills is essential when speaking with pet owners.
